We would love to take our boys to Westport. I have visions of them playing in the sand with a smile on their face.

  2. Carrie says:

Let’s see…my kids haven’t been to that part of Washington yet, my youngest will be starting kindergarten in the fall leaving me home alone, my BFF moved to Prosser (of all places) where there is no water or sand or seagulls (there is wine though), my husband works 24 hours at a time (at a minimum) and I haven’t had a professional haircut in over 3 years.

I think that qualifies me for a stab at a free vacation.

    And I’ll tweet it too!

  3. Tina Castillo says:

I deserve the vacation because I suffer through driving my kids to all kinds of activities, along with working 60% at a very busy trauma center. I need a break!

  4. Jennifer says:

Its been a rough start to the summer. My husband was laid off and plans for a vacation have been canceled. Then to add to our stress we came very close to losing my Dad to his battle with cancer. Miraculously, he is a fighter and pulled through it and we have him with us a while longer. These two situations have caused a huge amount of stress to the family and it would be really good to get away. I want my sons to remember this summer for something more than the “Summer Daddy got Laid Off and Grandpa almost died”.

  5. shari says:

Oh lordy… since January I have worked a ton of OT for tax season, spent 8 days in PA with my in-laws, moved, worked some more OT for yet another tax deadline, had a mammoth garage sale, hosted my sister and brother-in-law at our house for a week, had 30 people over for the 4th of July, my husband had sinus surgery and my 13 year old nephew is currently staying with me for a month! Oh and a took a CLASS last quarter because I am insane.

My grandmother bought me a “portrait package” at Sears as a gift/hint because I have yet to have Devin’s (18 months old) portrait taken… EVER… and she thought it was because of $$! Ha!

I don’t know if a weekend away would help but I sure need a vacation from my life! Whew.. thanks for the opportunity (to win & to vent!) :)

  6. Casey says:

Hmm… We would love this trip! My boys haven’t had a chance to play on a sandy beach since the oldest started liking sand, and the youngest stopped screaming 24 hrs a day (colic, reflux). They have outgrown it all and would love this. I hope I win. Too bad I’m not a tweeter.

  7. WM says:

I have four kids, a husband, a dog, two gerbils, a full time job….need I say more. ;)

  9. Carrie says:

We need this because we have two kids under two, so are 1) tired, 2) poor and 3) forgetting what the outside world looks like. And we’ve only been married a little over 3 years, and have had so much change and transition that it’s been tough to stay connected. We could really use a break together to just have the chance to stop and spend time talking and enjoying a fun time together.

  10. Monica says:

I would love to win this vacation! Thanks for posting!! I don’t know if I deserve it since we just got back from a weekend at the beach but I am aching to go again. We all need to get away from the hustle and bustle of our lives. It is so worth it even if the weather is crummy! I do nominate my friend Leena who deserves a getaway!! I don’t twitter but I can post a link from my blog if that will count?

  11. Christy says:

So, can my husband and I go and leave our kids at home? ;) Just kidding, my kids would LOVE to go to the beach. Pick me, pick me!

  12. Bananas says:

Oh I hope hope HOPE I win… we desperately love the beach and vacations and summer and FREE STUFF!

  13. MichelleGj says:

Oh my goodness, where do I begin? My hubby was laid off in May, we have constant issues with his ex-wife with regard to the kids, and we spend all of our time worrying how we’re going to keep our house! Ugh! What a summer!

We surely could use a weekend away to chill out a bit. I will most definitely tweet this!

  14. Tommy V says:

Heard the place is great… would love to go check it out on someone else’s tab!!

  15. Joshua says:

Well… I’ve lived in Portland for 2 years… and have never been to Washington. I hear its around here somewhere, right? This would be great excuse to discover the Pacific Northwest northwest of Portland.

PLUS, my wife is a social worker who just got a promotion… she does meaningful work… and I’m proud!

So, to investigate (Washington), celebrate and commemorate we’d be grateful for this getaway!

  16. Suzanne says:

I would love to take my 3 kids to the beach this summer. We haven’t had a vacation since last summer and my oldest wan’t able to go with us last year, so I would really like to be able to take him on a vacation this year.

  17. MissMouthy says:

After being a SAHM for the last 4 1/2 years, I’ll be working full time come fall. I want to make as many fun memories with my family as I can. I can totally feel the clock ticking away.

  18. Sheila says:

Sounds like a perfect vacation! Vacation plans are in jeapordy – my hubby going to try to convince me we already had a vacation this year – yeah, back in May!! :)

  19. J Kay says:

We are busy and we are sad. We could use a place to put our heads in the sand. When we come up from the silence we could use a good look at the awesome power of God reflected by the sea. Good luck to all!

  20. Liza says:

Well, my reason sounds a bit “woe is me” but here goes:
My husband was diagnosed just this afternoon with diabetes. It would be incredible to have a little escape as we process what this means to our family. Thanks and good luck to all. (Of course, fingers seriously crossed that the randomizer picks me…)

  21. I have 5 kids, ages 10 months to ten years. We would love a vacation!

  22. Shea says:

Well, of course I need to go since I couldn’t go with you guys!!!! ;-)

  23. Stephanie says:

Oh man, would I love to win this trip! We recently found out our dog has to have almost $10,000 worth of surgery (both hind legs) and our budget is seriously cracking under the pressure. It would be awesome to get away and feel the sand between our toes and let our 2- and 4-year old kids run around and build sand castles!

  24. Veronica R says:

We are always in need of a getaway with having no family near us! This would be a much relaxing and fun vacation for our family! And might be our first one along with no extended family! Feet in the sand here I come I hope!!

  25. Heather says:

Hmmm, do I go with the just lost my job woe, or just the general 3 kids 5 and under card?

  26. Debra says:

We’d love a weekend break at the coast! Its been a rough year with me being cut back from work (not laid off – just “reduced”), our company let us accrue vacation time – but NOT take it… Now the company is doing a bit better, and my boss says it is ok for me to take some vacation, but since I had reduced hours, the money just isn’t there to go anywhere. I’d love the chance to win this!, may the Randomizer.org gods shine down on us :) thanks!!

  27. Debra says:

    tweets away :)

  28. Jamie G. says:

Why I deserve a Vacation By The Sea for Free? Well it all began in January….

I had extensive ankle surgery due to degenerative arthritis which left me laid up for nearly 6 weeks. Two weeks later I spent my birthday bed ridden. On Valentines Day in pain, crutches, and a cast. March was a blur from pain killers and trying to deal with being stuck at home with Husband and Children 24 -7. April my Son breaks his arm falling down a set of stairs. Two weeks later Daughter breaks her arm at school by falling at recess…..I am still in a walking boot. We look like a battered family. In May my Husband plans his vasectomy the Friday of Mother’s Day weekend. I am left to cater to him on Mother’s Day. There has been nothing carefree about our year so far. Please send Mommy by the sea where she can relax, and enjoy walking on a beach again.

  29. Valerie says:

My fiance and I would *love* a weekend away at the coast. We are planning our October wedding and have realized that a honeymoon isn’t in the budget right now. A weekend away would give us a chance to reconnect and celebrate our new life together with a mini-honeymoon.

I just tweeted () about the giveaway!

  30. Timerie says:

Oh my gosh, a vacation!! What I would do to be able to go away and just relax with the husband and kids and play in the sand!! It would be heaven for all of us :)

  31. Penny says:

I have absolutely no good reason except I want to go to Westport!!!! I have lots of family who would come with me who are deserving of this vacation.

  32. Sonja Gardner says:

Since we have spent most of our summer painting, fixing, and sprucing up our house to get it ready to sell, we have not had much time to relax at all. My two little boys absolutely love to play in their sandbox and with their toy lighthouse, and this vacation would be a wonderful way to show them a really huge sandbox and lighthouse! Being able to relax on the beach would be such a great way to celebrate our success and end our summer on a positive and happy note either before or after we find and move into our new home.

  33. Nicole says:

What a wonderful giveaway! Thanks ladies!

Why would I love a vacation by the sea? Wow. I just think it would be an awesome experience for the family. I’d love to see the boys just run and play… I’d love to see my hubby take time off from work to relax… and I’d love to leave some housework behind for a few days =)

I know we would appreciate this trip and have photographs and memories to last!

  34. Lisita says:

Wow, of course everyone would want this trip but would everyone be willing to let their 4 year old bury them in the sand up to their face just for a chance to go to the beach? I’d even brush up my sorry looking kart-wheels and send you back a pic. My darling family of three could use some major family bonding time after a hard first half of the year. I could go on and on about our 2009 year that’s included 3 surgeries and one more to go for my little girl but I’d rather just dwell on all the fun things we hope to do for the 2nd half of the year…. hopefully at the beach! Roast marshmallows and make smores with brownies. Fly kites. Play tag. Get dirty building sandcastles. Watch for sea life and dig for sea shells. Watch the sunset. Ahhh, just thinking about it gives me the breath of fresh air I need. What a fun giveaway, that’s for the chance to enter!

  35. Vern & Arlo says:

To feel the breeze on your face and toes in the sand and splash in the cold colddddd water. To have our family with us and to sniff that incredible ocean and sing and shout with the seagulls. To be alive!!!

  36. Wendy says:

I have been a single mom since my husband killed himself in 1998 with kids ages 6 and 10. I work full time as a teacher, and in the summer attempt to hack back the weeds sort through the paper piles and repair the damage done to my house and yard during the school year. My vacations mostly consist of me organizing, planning driving, trying to get kids off electronic devices long enough to have a conversation and then cleaning up when we get home. I am finally in a position to leave my older teen and young adult alone and would LOVE to take a trip to the coast! I am the last person who gets taken care of around here! Maybe it would lower my high blood pressure! :)

  37. Stacey says:

As a part-time working mom of three little boys, ages 3 1/2 years and two 18 month old boys, I would absolutely love if our family could get away for 3 nights, relax, play in the sand and have quality family time together! I can already imagine the memories!

  38. Patty says:

I am a single parent of a teenage son working as a para educator during the school year. I would be thrilled to win a vacation so I can take my entire family, especially my dear Mother who has always been so kind and helpful to me. I would just love to treat that woman to a trip of her lifetime!!

  39. Stephanie says:

In case I’m not too late… I’d love to enter my name into your drawing; I’m a mother of two and pregnant with a third and would love a short vacation with my husband and kids just to reconnect and enjoy some time away from home. Kids and family are fabulous, but man, it’s easy to forget sometimes how lucky we are and how good it feels to simply be together without the distraction of everyday life.

Many thanks for this opportunity and have a good summer yourself!

  40. Hope I’m not too late… Put my name in the hat! Whoooo…..

  41. toniw says:

I would love to go back. We haven’t been there in years!

  42. Lindsey says:

Need to get away from the heat in Seattle before I melt. Sound like a great place for a girls weekend to hang out and catch up!

  43. Cyndi MacKenzie says:

Winning a trip to Westport would make a wonderful gift to my husband. I have recently been disable due to multiple spine surgeries and my husband has been my savior for all of the things that he has done for me through my recovery and am now doing very well. My husband recently had to have a back surgery as well and now is my turn to give my thanks to him by helping him. The past ten years we have made Westport our getway at least 3 times a year and has become our only vacation spot, but this year we have had to cut back due to the medical bills. My husband is a very honest hard working man who adores the the Westport community, the Westport/Grayland beaches, and of course fishing with the Westericks out of Westport Charters. I would love to surprise my husband, my friend, and sole mate with this getaway to Westport!

  44. Diane says:

Luv your post & I’d love a weekend get-away to Westport! Shopping in and exploring the city, playing in the surf and relaxing on the sand would be a wonderful respite from work. Thanks for the generous offer!

  45. Diane says:

I just tweeted () a link to this page about the get-away giveaway. Thanks again!
