Born and raised in Big D (Dallas, Texas), I moved around after schooling in Austin, Texas. I have called Juneau, Alaska, San Francisco, and Los Angeles (for a shorter time) my home. Now, I live on Bainbridge Island, Washington with my husband, preschooler/spunkster girl child and dog, an unemployed wirehaired pointing griffon with nothing to point at except food, snakes, birds, and the occasional deer. On our little island, I am also experiencing motherhood and home ownership for the first time.

In a past life, I worked as a lawyer (I was licensed in Texas, California and Alaska–let’s not talk about test taking!), real estate manager, and tourism director. Now, I am mothering, writing, reading, knitting, watching movies, playing Scrabble, walking, and sleeping on the off-times.

And, what about the title of my blog, Let the dog in!? It’s the story of life, our life, every day, all day, let the dog in, let the dog out, let the dog in….and it’s what can be heard shouted around here from every corner of the house — will someone Let The Dog In?!?
