Christy, I changed the wording of my blog description since "the easy way" was admittedly a bad choice of words. I didn't mean it the way it sounded! Hopefully my meaning is clearer now. Thanks for pointing it out!

Oh yes, of course pregnancy is not easy and neither is giving birth. When I said "the easy way" I meant the having sex part. You have to admit that having sex is a lot easier (and fun) than filling out an adoption application!

Congratulations on your decision! My husband and I have discussed adoption on occasion, and it's still a possibility in the future (we had a bit of a surprise the second time around that made our decision for us). I have to say, though, that giving birth to a child isn't really the "easy way." Getting pregnant can be extremely challenging and giving up your body to another human being for 9 months isn't really a lot of fun for many of us. Factor in high-risk pregnancies and... guess what? Absolutely no fun at all. So, while adoption may come with different emotional challenges and a lot more paperwork, I think both paths are a trial by fire, especially for women. In the end, it's that journey that helps us transition from care-free individualism to guilt-ridden, yet hopefully joy-filled parenthood. I look forward to following your journey!
