[...] In which I get a free ride home, thanks to my employer For the past six months I’ve had a little piece of paper hanging in my cubicle at work. It says: Guaranteed Ride Home Employees who ride the bus, carpool, vanpool, bike or walk to work on any given day are guaranteed a free ride home – via taxi – in the event of illness, emergency or unexpected [...] [...]

I must say that my company offers some great benes...guaranteed ride home being one of them.
That's probably why I continue to stay despite the fact that I really feel as if I'm supposed to be sitting on a sunny island somewhere fanned by hawt cabana boys

I have to see if my work even offers it. They're pretty awesome in terms of benefits, like if my son has a slight fever and can't be at daycare and I can't take the day off, they will pay for him to stay at the Tender Loving Care daycare at Virginia Mason. I haven't had to use it yet, but having it there offers me some comfort.

Oh- I'm so jealous! What a great benefit to have. I'm sitting in my living room, sweating as I type this, since I just had to unexpectedly speed-walk home from work to take care of my vomiting baby.

Hope your foot feels better soon!
