Don’t Labor Too Hard

In honor of Labor Day in Seattle, we’re staying close to home. There are various fairs and festivals going on around town and plenty of fun places to visit around the state. For this reason, we choose to lie around the house and watch debris come shooting off the roof as it’s power-washed by someone else.

When we first moved to the area, we went away for Memorial Day and got caught in some horrible traffic jelly on I-90 coming back. A drive that should have taken 4 hours ended up taking 11 and left us vowing never to travel on a day likely to be traveled on by more than 50% of greater Seattle area residents.

Seattle holiday traffic is more labor than we’re willing to endure. So here we sit. It’s quite nice, actually. What did you do for the holiday weekend?

  1. I tried to do dome back to school shopping. I don’t recommend saving it for the day before school. The store was packed, the kids got cranky, and I ended up leaving without so much as a #2 pencil. CHEERS to laying around with family.

  3. My husband is a teacher so the kids and I end up home alone every year for labor day weekend while he finishes up his class. We spent the day swimming so not to bad. Visited Seattle this summer and LOVED it!! I so love being in the city and figured out my way around there while hubby was in classes.
Best wishes to all the moms sending children off to school tomorrow!!!
